Monday, Dec. 5
•The Daily Press is accepting Letters to Santa until Monday, Dec. 12. All letters should be mailed to Santa's Maillbox ℅ The Daily Press, 245 Brusselles St., St. Marys, PA 15857. Be sure to include your name. The letters will be published in the newspaper's Christmas edition on Sunday, Dec. 18.
•St. Marys City Council will hold their monthly work session on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in City Hall on LaFayette Street in St. Marys.
•The St. Marys Public Library will host a Storytime Playgroup on Monday, Dec. 5 from 10-11 a.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Youngsters will have the opportunity to play, sing, listen to stories, participate in crafts and over activities and enjoy a snack. This is a special storytime focusing on Christmas.

Tuesday, Dec. 6
•The Community Blood Bank is having a blood drive on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Penn Highlands Elk. To donate you must be at least 17 years old or 16 years old with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and eat a good meal at least four hours prior to donating. Photo ID is required. Community Blood is the exclusive provider of blood and blood products to Penn Highlands Elk.
•The St. Marys Area School District Board of School Directors will hold their monthly workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the St. Marys Area High School library.
•The St. Marys Public Library is hosting Read Me a Melody on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 6-6:45 p.m. for children in grades K-3rd. Music teacher Adam Brooks will conduct the melodic program. Children's picture books will be used as a launching point to creatively engage children in the art of music. Children will create and play instruments, including a banana piano.

Wednesday, Dec. 7
•The St. Marys Public Library will host a Storytime Playgroup on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 10-11 a.m. Youngsters will have the opportunity to play, sing, listen to stories, participate in crafts and over activities and enjoy a snack. This is a special storytime focusing on Christmas.
•The Fox Township Supervisors will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building on Irishtown Road. A special budget meeting is scheduled at 5 p.m. with the regular meeting to follow.
•Local students from ECCHS will be performing in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade, commenting the 75t anniversary of the attack on Pear Harbor. They are part of the Pennsylvania Honors Band. The parade can be live streamed online at www.pearlharborparade.org. It begins at 6 p.m. in Hawaii, or 11 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in Pennsylvania.

Thursday, Dec. 8
•The St. Marys Public Library is hosting Read Me a Melody on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6-6:45 p.m. for pre-K age children. Music teacher Adam Brooks will conduct the melodic program. Saturday, Dec. 10
•The Bah-Humbug Festival is taking place Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Activity Center on Center Street in St. Marys.
•Windfall Farms is hosting a Winter Wonderland event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. inside their barn located at 737 N. St. Marys St. Santa will be visiting from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Visitors can enjoy hot chocolate, participate in a mini horse lesson, decorate gingerbread cookies and much more.
•A benefit comedy show featuring Bubba Bradley is taking place Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Edgewood in St. Marys. The event benefits the Elk County Humane Society. Tickets are $25 and includes a beef and chicken buffet. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m. Must be age 21 to attend. The event is also BYOB. •The Santa House on Center Street in St. Marys is open each Saturday until Christmas from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Santa House is a collaborative effort coordinated by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce and supported by Elk County Real Estate, the Moose Family Center in St. Marys, and Elk County Rustic Furniture.
•Christmas in the Wilds will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Start with breakfast with Santa. Stroll among the stores in Emporium where you will find gifts to purchase and free children's crafts. Decorate cookies at a restaurant and turn a flower into a face at the flower store. Artists demonstrate their work and vendors sell hot food, hot drinks, cookies and candy. The parade will start at noon with floats, marching bands, and the highlight is a giant 43 ft. long, two story high helium filled ballon and the appearance of Santa Claus' reindeer. •The Emporium VFW is hosting its annual Christmas Benefit Dance on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. The cost is $30 per couple and $20 for a single individual. Contact Connie Garrigan at 486-9445 or Nancy Fragale at 486-2205 to donate items for the Chinese auction.
•The Emporium Senior Center is hosting their annual craft sale on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 11
•Tickets for the Lions Club Breakfast with Santa is taking place Dec. 11 at Gunners in St. Marys with two sessions at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Tickets are $3 (children ages four and under are free). Tickets may be purchased at the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce office.
