Stanley C. “Cork” Langston Jr. 

Stanley C. “Cork” Langston Jr., 62, of Winslow Hill Road, Benezette, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.He was born May 29, 1950 in Washington, D.C., the son of Stanley C. Langston Sr. and Marjorie (Zema) Langston, who survive. On June 25, 1983, he married Pegenne (Jones), who survives.He was a graduate of Knoch High School in Saxonburg and had been a resident of Benezette since 1998.He served for two years in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era as a Corporal in the Marine Corps Air Division. He was employed for 11 years with Moonlight Mushrooms of Winfield, was a truck driver for William B. Altman Trucking of Fenelton, and worked for 30 years with Air Products & Chemicals of Allentown, where he traveled the world overseeing the construction and maintenance of cryogenic plants.He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Pirates, gardening, maintaining his lawn, fishing, and was an avid hunter, known as “Gunsmoke.”In addition to his parents, Stanley C. Langston Sr. and Marjorie (Zema) Langston of Cabot and his wife Pegenne (Jones) Langston of Benezette, he is survived by three children, Stephen Langston of Katy, Texas, Tamara Langston of Butler, and Sonya Langston of Benezette; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Gregory Langston of Butler.Funeral services for Stanley C. “Cork” Langston Jr. will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Winslow Hill in Benezette. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials to the Bennetts Valley Ambulance, Gateway Humane Society or Hahne Cancer Center.
