Daniel C. Kronenwetter

Daniel C. Kronenwetter, 60, of 203 Grandview Rd., St. Marys, died on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 from complications of esophageal cancer. He was born Oct. 12, 1952 in St. Marys, son of the late Carl M. and Dorothy G. Wendel Kronenwetter. At the time of his death, he was living with Lois and John Scott and their family and receiving treatment in Lancaster. He began his treatment in California earlier this year. Dan had grit to be sure. His determination to live in spite of the difficulties associated with his disease was admirable. With quiet grace, he pursued all avenues to help himself. His pleasures in life were golfing, fishing, hunting, and caring for his canine friend, Chuckles. He particularly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and rarely said no to a request from anyone.Dan graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in chemical engineering. Throughout the years, he brought his problem-solving abilities and engineering aptitude into everyday life, repairing and building a wide range of items for himself and others. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and working part-time at the Bavarian Hills Country Club. Dan was loved deeply by his sisters, Carol Kronenwetter of Mill Valley, Calif., Cheryl Hutchens of Tucson, Ariz., and Lois Scott of Lancaster. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him: his brothers-in-law, Lawrence Lanes, Rex Hutchens, John Scott, and his nieces and nephews, Aaron and David Lanes, Jon and Kim Hutchens, and Julia, Geoffrey, Charlotte, and Rebecca Scott. They all respected his kindness, fortitude, and ingenuity. He was preceded in death by his twin sister Janet; his father, Carl; and his mother, Dorothy.A Mass of Christian Burial Daniel C.
