4 area businesses benefit from energy grants

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Patrick McDonnell recently closed the 2017 Small Business Advantage Grant, after approving nearly $1 million in funding to help reduce costs, energy consumption, and waste for 155 small businesses statewide.
Four grants were approved for Elk County: Elk County Heat Treaters Inc., lighting and HVAC upgrades, $8,527 (private investment), $8,526 (grant amount); Phaztech Inc., LED lighting upgrade, $4,447 (private investment), $3,786 (grant amount); Rick’s Used Auto Parts, LED lighting upgrade, $5,541 (private investment), $3,722 (grant amount); St. Marys Box Company, LED lighting upgrade, $13,100 (private investment), $7,000 (grant amount).
