Laura E. “Bette” Ginter, 89, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
She was born to Fred and Jane Anderson on Dec. 15, 1924, married William C. “Bill” Ginter on June 30, 1945, and lived most of her life in Brisbin. Her most recent residence was at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carlisle and had previously resided in both State College and Glen Hazel.
She graduated from Houtzdale High School and early in life, “had lots of fun” working at Lobb’s Grocery in Brisbin. As her professional career, Bette was the Controller of Ginter Welding, Inc., from 1946 until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of both Business and Professional Women (BPW) and the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA). She was a very active member for many years at the Brisbin Baptist Church and has served her Lord at the church in several capacities, including Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher.
Bette is survived by their son, John Mark, of Arlington, Va., as well as various nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” and siblings Fred “Harp,” Charles, Louise and Ivalo.
Interment will be with her husband in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin at the discretion and convenience of their son.
