Robert J. Hupfer

Robert J. Hupfer, 85, of 128 Averyville Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, 2015 at the Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 4, 1929 in St. Marys, son of the late John and Gertrude Feldbauer Hupfer. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1947. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring in 1991 after 43 years of service as a first class tool and die maker.
On Aug. 8, 1959 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Fidelis Goodreau, who survives.

John J. "Jack" Struble Sr.

John J. "Jack" Struble Sr., 80, a resident of Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport, and formerly of St. Marys and Smethport, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at Sena-Kean Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 29, 1934, a son of the late William and Viola Valentine Struble.
He married Lois Hollamby Struble in June of 1966, she preceded him in death Feb. 25, 1999. He then married Nancy Beyer Struble, who survives.

Ruth Mae Willow

Ruth Mae Willow, 87, of Fox Manor in Kersey, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born Oct. 5, 1927 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Carl and Esther Stromdahl Saline.
On Oct. 18, 1945, she married LeRoy H. Willow, he preceded her in death June 5, 2005.
She had been a Kersey resident for nine years.
She was a member of the Maria Lutheran Church, and she was a member of the Ida Rebecca White Shrine and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She retired from Elk County General Hospital in 1986.

Arnold E. “Archie” Secco

Arnold E. “Archie” Secco, 84, of 19343 Bennetts Valley Hwy., Weedville, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 18, 1930 in Kersey, son of the late Amilcare and Ida Canton Secco.
On July 21, 1955 in the St. Joseph’s Church in Force, he married Rose Marie Zambanini, who survives. This year would have marked their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

Charlotte Rueger Woodley

Charlotte Rueger Woodley, 88, of 119 Iron Run Rd., St. Marys, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 in Scranton.
She was born Jan. 29, 1927 in Lucerne, Switzerland, daughter of the late Ernst and Anna Bucher Rueger. On Nov. 25, 1949 in Ridgway Presbyterian Church, she was married to Clarence George Woodley who preceded her in death June 30, 2011.

Gibby Perantoni

Gibby Perantoni, 86, of Chandler, Ariz., died Feb. 18, 2015.
He was formerly a resident of Johnsonburg and the son of the late Ermine (bleach) and Evelyn Perantoni.
He was born March 18, 1928. He married Mary J. Borrello on Sept. 23, 1950, she preceded him in death June 30, 1987.
He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan. He had a local band “The Four Guys” and loved entertaining people with his piano. In his later years he loved listening to his radio and stayed current with all the news.

Gloria M. Chileski

Gloria M. Chileski, 72, of 309 Jackson Ave., Ridgway, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, Feb. 19, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 25, 1942 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Domenic and Josephine (Testa) Sorge.
She married Alan S. Chileski on April 20, 1963, and he survives.

Richard C. "Rick" Wildfire

Richard C. "Rick" Wildfire, 59, of 114 Cherry Rd., Kersey, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 16, 1955 in Warren, son of the late Carl W. and Elizabeth "Betty" Woodley Wildfire. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1973. He was an employee of the Keystone Powdered Metal Company where he worked for 28 years.

James V. (Speedy) Verbeck

James V. (Speedy) Verbeck, 85, of 101 North Mill St., Ridgway, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, Feb 15, 2015 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Ridgway, son of the late Adiel and Mary (Lynch) Verbeck.
He had resided in Ridgway all his life and was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church, and the Blue Army. He was a graduate of St. Leo High School. He had been employed by H. & L. Johnson Painters and Oliver Tramack.
James is survived by one brother, John Verbeck of Perrysville, Md., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen "Phyllis" Leasgang

Helen "Phyllis" Leasgang, 81, of 1450 Million Dollar Hwy., Kersey, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 at the home of her daughter following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 20, 1933, a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Sass Polites.
On Oct. 25, 1952, she married Howard Leasgang, who preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1987.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Boniface Church. She retired from Powdered Metals in St. Marys after many years of service. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.
