Weidow vehicle homicide trial underway

RIDGWAY – A jury trial began Tuesday for Brandon Michael Weidow, 26, of Byrnedale, who is charged in a 2012 vehicle accident that resulted in the death of Savannah Straub.
Weidow is facing felony charges of homicide by vehicle and homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, as well as several DUI and traffic offenses, according to court records.
District Attorney Shawn T. McMahon, during his opening statements, informed the jury that residents near the crash site pulled Weidow out of the vehicle and that Savannah Straub was ejected from the vehicle and found under the vehicle. Weidow's blood alcohol content was found to be .261.
