Susan “Susie” Walter Bernstein

Susan “Susie” Walter Bernstein, 55, a 25-year resident of Annapolis, Md., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at her home after a 22-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1957 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Irene and Martin Walter.
Susie graduated magna cum laude in 2003 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a bachelor's degree in social work and received a master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2004. She was a psychotherapist in Annapolis until October 2012. She enjoyed skiing and spending time with her family.
Susie is survived by her husband, Richard Bernstein, M.D., of Annapolis, Md., whom she married Sept. 29, 1984; a son, Jeff Bernstein, and a daughter Julie Bernstein, both of Annapolis; and a brother, David Walter of Potomac, Md..
A funeral for Susan "Susie" Walter Bernstein will be held late Monday morning or early Monday afternoon today, Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Temple Beth Shalom, 1461 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Arnold, Md.
