Stanley J. "Stash" Myslinski Jr.

Stanley J. "Stash" Myslinski Jr., 82, of 5415 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 8, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 12, 1932 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Stanley and Helen Machoviak Myslinski.
On Sept. 2, 1961 in Arcade, N.Y., he married Elaine Wolford. She died Jan. 13, 2004.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1949.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg Elks Club, and loved hunting, gardening, baking and cooking.
He was a Korean Era War Navy veteran serving at sea aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Saipan as an Airman Aviation Ordnance-man. He was later stationed in Trinidad serving in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. He was later transferred to the 34th Patrol Squadron as an Air Crewman for the ordnance department.
He was employed by Allegheny National Forest from 1955 to 1985. He had previously worked for Armstrong Forest Co. After his retirement he was an independent surveyor for several years.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda, Mrs. Tom Sampson of Wellsboro, Jean Fallucchi and her partner Frank Vakerich of Mansfield, and Carol, Mrs. Mark Shine of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren, Erin, Mrs. John Szentesy, Meghan Henneman, William and Matthew Ross, Kaylee Shine, and Emily and Jessica Fallucchi; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Leah Szentesy.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Myslinski; and a sister, Cecelia Myslinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley J. Myslinski Jr. will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.
Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Wilcox Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m.
