June 6, 2011

Laura Stahli was recently awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the St. Marys Nurses Study Club. The award was presented on May 18, 2011 at the club's dinner meeting, held at The Red Fern. Laura is the daughter of Debra Stahli of Johnsonburg. She attended Johnsonburg Area High School and plans to attend Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, where she will pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Laura's application for the scholarship exhibited a strong academic background, as well as a good work ethic accompanied by a commendable plan for the future. Shown presenting the scholarship is Beverly Rucki, RN, president of the St. Marys Nurses Study Club. Looking on at the presentation are Laura's mother, Debra, and members of the Scholarship Committee: Joann Goodreau, RN, and Hope Weidenboerner, RN.
The scholarship was in memory of the late Celine Schlimm, RN, longtime treasurer of the Nurses Study Club. Photo submitted.
