SMCMS presenting 'The Little Mermaid Jr.' on Thursday

St. Marys Catholic Middle School is performing 'The Little Mermaid Jr.' on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Elk County Catholic High School auditorium. The show is open to the public and free of charge, however donations will be collected. The 18-member cast and four-member stage crew have been busy practicing twice a week since January.
Director Chelsea Bloam is assisted by SMCMS teacher Marsan O'Leary and volunteer Lisa Daghir. Parent Sue Jansen pitched in by making all of the mermaid costumes, while other parents created other costumes. At just over one hour long, the play features 16 musical performances. Additional performances are scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. for SMCMS and Elk County Catholic High School students and at 1 p.m. on Thursday for St. Marys Catholic Elementary School students.
Characters include Ariel, played by Marcy Smith, Flounder, played by Emily Miller, Marie Hoh as the sea witch octopus Ursula, Harry Brennen as Prince Eric, Rachel Herbstritt as Sebastian the crab, Jacob Raffeiner as King Triton, Ariel's father, and Jenna Minard as Scuttle the seagull.
