The St. Marys gymnastics team traveled to Bellefonte to participate in a high school gymnastics invitational in which each gymnast competed against other gymnasts in their own grade level on Saturday.
In the ninth grade competition, there were nine competitors: SMAâ€™s Mackenzie Neureiter placed in a tie for third on vault and with the tiebreaker placed fourth on vault with an 8.0; third on floor with a 7.9; and received a 6.2 on beam and a 4.95 on bars.
In the10th grade competition, there were seven competitors: Abby Wittman placed third on bars with a 5.4; second on beam with a 5.9; and third on floor with a 7.3; received an 8.0 on vault; and placed third in the all-around with a 26.6.
In the 11th grade competition, there were 10 competitors: Michaela Sorg placed second on bars with a 7.25; third on beam with a 7.3; and second on floor with an 8.1; received a 7.4 on vault; and placed second in the all-around with a score of 30.05.
In the 12th grade competition, there were 12 competitors: Bobbi Fox placed fifth on beam with a 7.2 and received a 6.8 on vault. Megan Longhi placed second on beam with an 8.0; received a 7.85 on vault; 6.5 on bars; 8.0 on floor; and placed fourth in the all- around with a score of 30.35. Justin Huey placed fifth on bars with a 7.1, and received an 8.15 on vault and a 7.05 on floor. Molly Eshbach placed second on vault with an 8.65; third on beam with a 7.65; fourth on beam with a 6.1; 4th on floor with an 8.5; and third in the all-round with a 30.9.
St. Marys will host Bellefonte on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the St. Marys Area Middle School.
