Service could change rural internet

Aiming to promote broadband service in the 32-county region north of Interstate 80, a primarily rural area, the Northern Tier Middle Mile Broadband Project may vastly improve communication efforts across the state.
That was part of the message Wednesday during a meeting of the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission's board of directors as Frank Yoder, broadband services manager for the Pa. State Police, Statewide Radio Network Division, gave a 40-minute presentation on the intricacies of the project.
