Senior all-stars down METS 4-2 for Section 1 title

Needing only one more out to claim the Section 1 title, St. Marys' relief pitcher Brad Dippold worked Crawford County's Steven Hollabaugh into a 1-2 count in the top of the seventh inning. The previous batter, Alex Vincent, had singled, and a balk put him on second, waiting to try to score and cut into St. Marys' slim 4-2 lead if Hollabaugh put the ball in play. The METS wanted to rally and force a second game to decide the Section 1 title, but unfortunately for the Crawford County squad, though Hollabaugh did connect with Dippold's next pitch, he hit a line drive right into the glove of shortstop Nate DaCanal, who made a diving catch to come up with the final out to send the St. Marys Senior League all-stars to the Pa. State Tournament.
