School board approves personnel items

The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors approved several personnel issues at this month’s regular meeting.
All employment recommendations are provisional for 30 days pending receipt of Act 151 and Act 34 clearance documentation and pre-employment drug testing if applicable.
Two unpaid leaves of absences were approved.
The following support personnel were hired:
•Barbara Bartlett of St. Marys was hired effective Sept. 2 as an EAP tutor at St. Marys Area High School at a rate of $10 per hour and as a special education support (for a one-year time period) at St. Marys Area Middle School, effective Sept. 17, at a rate of $27 per hour with a limit of five hours per week.
•Barbara Foster of St. Marys was hired effected Sept. 10 as an athletic secretary at SMAHS at a rate of $8.50 per hour. She holds a degree in business administration.
•Susan Jansen of Kersey, effective Sept. 30, and Ruth Uhl, effective Sept. 16, were hired as cafeteria workers at SMAHS.
•Michelle Schaefer and Terri Supon, both of St. Marys, were hired effective Sept. 16 and 30, respectively, as cafeteria workers at South St. Marys Street Elementary.
Supplemental contracts were awarded to:
•Mark Auman, intramural elementary boys’ basketball, renewal at a rate of $315.
•Heather Beck, elementary boys’ basketball coordinator, renewal at a rate of $368.
•Michael Belovesick, media club advisor, new half-contract at a rate of $1,250; yearbook advisor, new contract at a rate of $800; and assistant yearbook advisor, new contract at a rate of $500.
•Jennifer Breindel, HOSA advisor, new half-contract at a rate of $200.
•Adam Brooks, stage production vocal music, renewal at a rate of $840; and as high school chorus director, renewal at a rate of $525.
•Michele Burdick, junior class advisor, new contract at a rate of $300.
•Kelly Carr, middle school student council advisor, renewal at a rate of $368.
•Dawn Erich, middle school yearbook co-advisor, renewal at a rate of $410.
•Timothy Frey, assistant boys’ basketball coach, new volunteer.
•Mark Guido, head boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $4,080.
•Sharon Gurosik, senior class advisor, new contract at a rate of $300.
•Martha Healy, middle school newspaper advisor, renewal at a rate of $443.
•Jessica Krug, HOSA advisor, new half-contract at a rate of $200.
•Elaine Lee, model UN coordinator, renewal at a rate of $926; Scholastic Challenge advisor, renewal at a rate of $405; senior class advisor, renewal at a rate of $402; and as government outreach advisor, renewal at a rate of $405.
•Beth Lenaway, junior class advisor, new contract at a rate of $300.
•Joshua Meyer, assistant junior high wrestling coach, renewal at a rate of $1,945.
•William Meyer, assistant junior high wrestling coach, renewal at a rate of $3,048.
•Charles Miller, assistant intramural boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $348.
•George Neubert, assistant boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $2,606.
•Beth Penn, middle school yearbook advisor, renewal at a rate of $302.
•Amy Reed, eighth grade class advisor, renewal at a rate of $368.
•Douglas Reuscher, fifth grade assistant boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $315.
•Seth Rhed, ninth grade assistant boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $1,985.
•Jason Schreiber, assistant junior varsity boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $1,943; and elementary boys’ basketball coordinator, renewal at a rate of $1,489.
•Rachel Schreiber, assistant volleyball coach, renewal as a volunteer.
•Edwin Schwer II, middle school band director, renewal at a rate of $1,725.
•Amy Sines, middle school chorus director, renewal at a rate of $465.
•Stacy Yetzer, Fox Township head teacher, new contract at a rate of $800.
•Andy Yost, assistant intramural Bennetts Valley boys’ basketball coach, renewal at a rate of $315.
•Michelle Jackson, hired for three supplemental contracts, including DECA advisor at a rate of $400 for 2007-08; $420 renewal contract for 2008-09 and $441 for the 2009-10 school year.
The following professional substitute personnel were hired:
•Stephanie Brooks of Ridgway was hired effective Sept. 30 for all district buildings. She holds a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Maryland and has her emergency certification permit.
•Brandi Bryington of Ridgway was hired Sept. 14 for all district buildings. She holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Mercyhurst College and has her emergency certification.
•Kayla Nelson of Johnsonburg was hired effective Sept. 1 in all district buildings. She holds a bachelor of science degree in education and is certified in elementary / early childhood education from Edinboro University.
•Kristin Uhl of Kersey was hired Sept. 29 at the middle and high schools. She holds a bachelor of science degree in education and is certified in biology from Clarion University.
Two support substitutes were hired:
•Amy Glass of St. Marys was hired effective Sept. 29 as a substitute secretary, classroom aid, cafeteria worker and bus aide inside all district buildings.
•Julie Greenthaner was hired effective Sept. 16 as a substitute cafeteria worker in all district buildings.
