Safety Day offers variety of health, safety lessons

Over 200 fifth grades students participated in Elk County Safety Day held Tuesday at the Elk County Fairgrounds in Kersey.
The daylong event emphasized various health and safety lessons applicable when on a farm, ranch or at home.
This marked the sixth year for the event organized by Natalie Aiello and Jaclyn Kocjancic of the Penn State Extension in Elk County. It is sponsored and supported by the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Foundation, which hosts similar events nationwide.
Local elementary schools attending were from Ridgway, Fox Township, Bennetts Valley, St. Boniface and St. Marys Catholic Elementary.
