Rosemary A. "Rosie" Brendel

Rosemary A. "Rosie" Brendel, 88, of 479 W. Creek Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born April 11, 1924 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Philip and Mary Wolfe Lecker. On Aug. 28, 1949, in the St. Mary's Church, she married Raymond C. Brendel, who survives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co., Ace Vending, and had volunteered for the American Red Cross. She had also worked at the St. Mary's Parochial School Cafeteria for many years.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Church and a member of the C.D. of A.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Julie Brendel of St. Marys; a son, Steven Brendel of St. Marys; a grandson, Dan Brendel (Brittany); a great-granddaughter, McKinnley Brendel; a sister, Alice DeStephano of St. Marys; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Andres and in childhood Nancy Lecker.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services for Rosemary A. "Rosie" Brendel to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, OSB, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
