Playgrounds that never close

Photo submitted A visitor stands on the spillway at Parker Dam State Park on a misty morning. Recreational opportunities at Parker Dam and other state parks continue over the winter months, with lots to do for all ages. The Winter Family Festival is being held at Parker Dam this weekend.

When I checked the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Calendar of Events for the Pennsylvania Wilds just now, I counted 25 events, some as close as Parker Dam State Park and others farther away at Bald Eagle, Hills Creek or Leonard Harrison state parks.
