PGC: CWD found in deer harvested in Blair, Bedford counties

The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced on Friday that Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) has been discovered in wild deer harvested recently in Pennsylvania. Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), a neurological disease that impacts members of the Cervidae family, which includes whitetail deer and elk, has been detected in deer harvested in Blair and Bedford counties, the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) announced Friday. So far, a total of three deer-- two from Blair County and one from Bedford County-- have reportedly tested positive for the disease.
