New tree finds roots at SSMSE

In celebration of Arbor Day, fifth grade students at South St. Marys Street Elementary assisted in planting a new Crimson King Maple tree on the site of the school's new playground.
On Friday morning members of the St. Marys Shade Tree Commission hosted the Tree City USA ceremony at the school. This marks the ninth consecutive year the commission's efforts have been recognized by Tree City USA.
