Nellie H. Nitsche

Nellie H. Nitsche, 97, of the Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of Wilcox, died Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2012, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 15, 1915 in Brookston, daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Szaidek Wantuck.
On November 23, 1938 in Holy Cross Church, Rasselas she married Frank J. Nitsche, and he preceded her in death July 16, 2003.
She resided in Wilcox most of her life. She had lived at Silver Creek Terrace for five years.
She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1933. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Wilcox; Catholic Women's Club, Wilcox; American Legion Post 467 Women's Auxiliary; AARP; and the Jones Twp. Senior Center.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Preshak, Mary Bendick and Helen Gorske; and two brothers, John and Anthony Wantuck. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A private funeral service for Nellie H. Nitsche will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, on Friday, April 5. Officiating will be the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor of St. Anne's Church, Wilcox.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas.
There will be no visitation.
