Nancy R. Yates

Nancy R. Yates, 75, of Meadville died at home Sunday, February 24, 2013. 
She was born May 11, 1937 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late William and Edith Lundberg Launer.  
She married William Jack Yates on July 8, 1961, and he preceded her in death February 1, 2008.
She was a 1954 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was employed first at East End Elementary School and then in the Dean of Students Office at Allegheny College, both in Meadville, from where she retired.
She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Meadville, its United Methodist Women and served on several committees over the years. She was also a member of Wesbury United Methodist Community’s Sunset Auxilliary. She also enjoyed bowling at the Monday afternoon bowling league at Plaza Lanes.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Yates and Jeffrey Yates; two sisters Charlotte Knopic and Shirley Steudler; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice McGuinness.
A memorial service for Nancy R. Yates will be held at a date and time to be announced
Interment will be in Johnsonburg.
