Memorial Park is offering individuals of all ages a way to dance away the afternoons while also getting a good workout in this summer. Tuesday marked the first day of Mumba, which is the park staff's version of the popular dance-fitness program Zumba. Mumba is currently being held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2-3 p.m. at the park's tennis courts and is free of charge.
Memorial Park staff member Anna Hoffman came up with the idea for Mumba, and fellow staff member Erin Gahn serves as the instructor.
"I always wanted to do [Zumba] because my college offered it, but I never really had the time to do it. Here at the park you get to come up with your own kind of activity, and that was one of the ones that I came up with," Hoffman said.
