Mayor encourages decreasing parking fines

October 29, 2013

During a recent St. Marys City Council meeting, Mayor Sally Geyer brought up the issue of repealing the $5 parking ticket fine and decreasing it to a lesser amount. She mentioned the idea as a topic of discussion at the conclusion of the meeting.
"I think its a very big deterrent to downtown shopping. It's a thorn in everyone's side, it's upsetting a lot of people," Geyer said.
