Margie E. Liptak

Margie E. Liptak, 93, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Walston, Jefferson County on March 16, 1921 to Steve and Anna (Fairman) Farcus.
Upon graduating from Saints Cosmas and Damian High School in Punxsutawney, Margie worked in the grocery business eventually becoming manager of stores in Punxsutawney and St. Marys. Later she joined Pure Carbon in St. Marys where she worked until retirement in 1991.
Margie married George L. Liptak in June 1957 and the couple resided in Byrnedale. Margie and George were members of St. Joseph Church in Force. They had no children.
Margie loved to spend her time cooking for her family and friends and taking care of her home. She had a deep devotion to her faith and lived a life of caring for others.
She is survived by her brother Paul and his wife Nedra; two sisters-in-law, Marie Farcus of Walston and Matilda Liptak of Weedville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; brothers John, William, and George Farcus of Walston; and sisters Agnes Van Gelder and Mary Ginter of St. Marys.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margie E. Liptak will be held on Monday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Tyler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visiting will be held on Sunday, June 29 from 3-5 p.m. and Monday, June 30 from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.            
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.
