Major crash shuts down Boot Jack

Photo by Aimee Coder This was the scene Wednesday morning as a multi-vehicle crash resulted in a thick sheet of coal covering the roadway. Boot Jack Road was shut down for several hours to allow for cleanup and the removal of the third vehicles.

RIDGWAY TWP. – A multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning shut down state Route 219 for over two and a half hours after a head-on collision with a loaded coal truck spilled debris over the two-lane roadway near 15926 Boot Jack Road (SR 219) in Ridgway Township.
Ridgway Ambulance and Elk Company 4 (Ridgway Fire Department) were called out at 11:12 a.m. for a report of an overturned coal truck in a head-on collision.
