Lady Dutch soccer match suspended with DuBois on top 6-1

The soccer game between the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch and the DuBois Area Lady Beavers was suspended Monday afternoon with approximately 20 minutes left in the match due to lightning in the area.
The Lady Beavers held a 6-1 advantage over the Lady Dutch when the match was suspended.
DuBois got on the board with 32:02 left in the first half, taking the 1-0 lead.
The Lady Beavers increased their lead to 2-0 with 28:53 left in the first period.
DuBois went up 3-0 with 19:43 left in the first half as they took advantage of the keeper being out of the goal.
The Lady Dutch offense turned things around for the next few minutes, putting the pressure on the DuBois defense. Stephanie Yetzer, Brittany Orr, Lauren Challingsworth, Caley Keister and Megan Barber all had opportunities but could not capitalize.
With 15:21 left in the first half, DuBois made the score 4-0.
The Lady Dutch got on the board with 7:08 left in the half, when Yetzer scored on a penalty kick as DuBois was called for a hand in the box, making the score 4-1.
St. Marys kept the pressure on late in the first half, but the Lady Beavers held on for the 4-1 lead at the end of the half.
St. Marys outshot the Lady Beavers by a 9-6 margin in the first 40 minutes of play.
DuBois made the score 5-1 with 34:07 left in the second half.
About 10 minutes, later DuBois increased their lead to 6-1 with 24:46 left in the game.
With approximately 23 minutes remaining, the match was suspended with DuBois on top by a 6-1 margin.
The Lady Dutch, now 8-4 on the season, return to action Thursday when they take on Elk County Catholic at Benzinger Park at 4 p.m.
