Kenneth M. Herzing

Kenneth M. Herzing, 82, of 715 Clark Rd., St. Marys, died on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh as a result of pneumonia and heart problems.
He was born Sept. 3, 1931 in St. Marys, son of the late John A.C. and Bertha Weinzierl Herzing. On Oct. 11, 1953, in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Mary Lou McKnight and she survives.
Mr. Herzing was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1949. He was owner of Indus-Sales Inc. in St. Marys. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Amy Grant and her husband Jim of Chicago; five sons, Stephen K. Herzing and his wife Anne of St. Marys, Mark K. Herzing of Biglerville, Matthew J. Herzing and his wife Mary Jo of St. Marys, Luke T. Herzing and his wife Colleen of St. Marys, Adam J. Herzing and his wife Nena of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Hy Dauer of St. Marys and Bernice Lecker of St. Marys.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Scholastica "Sis" Weidenboerner, Faith Holben, Pauline Fritz, Val Lambert, Audrey Skiba and by two brothers, Aurelius J. Herzing and John G. Herzing.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth M. Herzing will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, June 28, 2013 at noon, with the Rev. Eric Vogt OSB as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m.
