Kane school, judge take tough stance on truancy

KANE – Skipping school has serious consequences in Kane.
Both the school administration and Kane District Court Judge Dave Engman are taking a tough stance on truancy.
"Students cannot learn if they are not present in school," Dr. Maryann Anderson, school district superintendent, said. She pointed out that the school district is required to enforce the state compulsory attendance law.
