Kane boy, cousin among 6 killed in Rt. 219 crash

HAMLIN TWP. – Six-year-old Jarrett Costanzo idolized his older brothers Angelo and Jacob and looked forward to the day that he, too, could play youth football.Meanwhile, he was happy to be on the sidelines as the spirited "water boy."His 12-year-old cousin Olivia Douglas, a Kane native who lived with her father in Eldred, was a vibrant young girl who was a cheerleader with the Little Nippers youth football program for Otto-Eldred. In one of the worst tragedies in Kane history, Costanzo and Douglas both died Saturday afternoon in a horrendous head-on Route 219 traffic accident that also claimed the lives of four family members from St. Marys. Also killed in what is believed to be the single worst crash in McKean County history were these St. Marys residents:*Gary Beimel, 62, the driver of the second vehicle.*Elaine Beimel, 55, wife of the driver.*David Cuneo, 54, brother of Elaine Beimel.*Florence Donachy, 81, aunt of the Beimels.
