John R. Gerg

John R. Gerg, 74, formerly of 408 Center St., St. Marys, and a resident of New Port Richey, Fla., since 2006, died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born April 24, 1938 in St. Marys, the only child of the late John G. and Rita J. Golden Gerg.
John was an employee of Stackpole Carbon and then Sylvania, from which he retired. He served as a private in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959.
He regularly played golf, walked and swam. He always kept his lawn and garden in St. Marys and New Port Richey in ideal condition. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in St. Marys.
Burial for John R. Gerg will take place at the Florida National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
