Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Sample

Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Sample, 61, of 148 School St., Kane, died on Monday, March 18, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1951 in Ridgway, son of the late John S. "Jack" and Carmella M. Allegretto Sample.
On May 14, 1982 he married Janis M. Redmond, who preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2011.
Mr. Sample was a resident of Kane for the past six years. He had formerly lived in Clearfield for five years and had lived in Rasselas. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1970.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of St. Marys. He was a member of Wilcox Lodge F&AM #571 and the Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
He was a Vietnam-era Army veteran, serving overseas as an SP4 with A Battery 2 Battalion 3FA Regiment, where he was a Special Weapons and Artllery Specialist. He was employed by Windfall Products/Metaldyne Industries for 27 years, retiring in 2006.
Mr. Sample is survived by three brothers, Harry "Buck" Sample of Wilcox, James H. Sample and his wife Georgeanne of Smethport, and Joseph Sample and his wife Kathleen "Kathy" of Hickory, N.C.; six sisters, Jean "Norma" Swanson of Rasselas, Jane, Mrs. David Barber of Glen Hazel, Julie, Mrs. Timothy Valentine of St. Marys, Joyce, Mrs. Tim Smart of Clyde, N.C., Joanne, Mrs. David Andrus of Howard Siding, and Leone Sigworth of West Middlesex.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by six sisters, June Sample, Janet Howard, Betty Allegretto, Gertrude Northrop, Elmira "Pie" Smith, and Mary Ann Stearns.
A funeral service for Jeffrey A. Sample will be conducted at Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Friday evening, March 22, 2013 at 8 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Brad Brunner, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, St. Marys.
Interment will be at the Wilcox Cemetery in Wilcox. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg/Wilcox Servicemen's Detail. Members are asked to assemble at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:45 p.m.
Friends will be received at the funeral home in Johnsonburg on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Masonic Service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday evening at 5:45 p.m.
