Ione M. Stenta

Ione M. Stenta, 87, of 414 Silver Creek Rd., Johnsonburg, died during the early morning of Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following an lengthy illness.
She was born on August 25, 1925 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Raymond and Thelma Gardner McClintick.
She married Herman Mendat in 1950. He died in 1953. She then married Ferdinand Stenta in 1970. He died in 1996.
She resided in Johnsonburg for most of her life, graduating from Johnsonburg High School in 1944. She had lived in Ridgway for eight years.
Mrs. Stenta was a former member of the Johnsonburg First Baptist Church and the Rolfe Sportsmen's Club Women's Auxiliary.
She had worked for Stackpole Corp. of Johnsonburg before her first marriage and spent most of her life being a housewife and mother.
She is survived by a son Kenneth Mendat with whom she resided; a daughter, Ruth Ann Mendat of Columbus, Ohio; step-children Richard A. Stenta of Raleigh, N.C., Marie, Mrs. Richard Olszewski of Ridgway, Gerald Stenta and his wife Georgia of Ridgway, Caroline, Mrs. Bob Foley of Philadelphia and Ronald Stenta and his wife Diane of Ridgway; and numerous step-grand and step-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Verna McClintick Borello of Johnsonburg and Naomi McClintick Ernst of Tonawanda, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, her brother Blair McClintick, her sister Vera McClintick and a step-son Ferdinand J. Stenta.
A funeral service for Ione M. Stenta will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Wed., June 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Andrews, pastor of the Johnsonburg First Baptist Church.
Interment will take place at the Wardvale Lutheran Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
