St. Marys has a new mayor and a tight race in Fox Township ended with a six-vote margin at the conclusion of the Tuesday election.
Bob Howard, who was once the mayor of Ridgway, was successful Tuesday in his campaign for mayor of St. Marys. He earned 1,460 votes, good enough to top Lyle H. Garner who had 1,083 votes.
In Fox Township, incumbent supervisor Mike Keller appeared to have been defeated by six votes although numbers reported Tuesday are considered unofficial. Keller reportedly received 389 votes but was overrun by Cheryl A. Ruffner, who tallied 395 votes. There were five write-in votes.
