Hope glows during the moonlight fight against cancer

September 27, 2013

Over 500 people participated in the 5K Run/Walk Let Your Bow Glow event held Friday evening on Trout Run Road in St. Marys. The event, sponsored by Elk Regional Health Center and SMP Home Medical, kicked off at 9 p.m. Participants gathered for the pre and post race festivities which included a live DJ, a pink stilt walker, concession stand, prize drawings and vendor booths. The start/finish line was situated in front of the St. Marys Eagles Club. Throughout the course there were many residences cheering on participants from their porches and front yards, some of them handing out beverages. Several businesses also had tailgate parties in front of their establishments welcoming participants and spectators to join them. Shown are runners taking off at the start line of the race and a group of friends crossing the finish line in style. Upcoming ERHC events focusing on women's health are a Zumba Fitness Party on Saturday, Oct. 19 at St. Marys Area High School and Bras for a Cause on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Gunners restaurant.
