Harold L. Meyer

Harold L. Meyer, 79, of 1186 Monroe Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 15, 1933 in St. Marys, a son of the late LeRoy and Agnes Glatt Meyer.
On May 3, 1970 in Emporium, he married the late Grace Breindel Meyer, who preceded him in death on June 3, 2010.
Mr. Meyer was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Mary's Church. He retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the NRA and the St. Marys Sportsmens Club, where he also served as past director. He enjoyed shooting trap and skeet and greatly enjoyed teaching kids how to shoot as well. He was also the proud recipient of the Eynon award.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Meyer and his wife Paula of St. Marys and Thomas Wright of St. Marys; a daughter, Peggy, Mrs. David Grieggs of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four brothers, Denny Meyer of St. Marys, Jordan Meyer and his wife Nancy of St. Marys, Clement Meyer of St. Marys, and Mark Meyer and his wife Rose of Ohio; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Wright; two brothers, Allen "Fatty" Meyer and Roger "Dutch" Meyer; and a sister, Sandra Dahlquist.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold L. Meyer will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Saturday, April 6, at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scholastic Clay Target Program at the St. Marys Sportsmens Club, Glen Hazel Road, St. Marys, PA  15857.
