Grady J. Cherry of 257 Rasselas Rd., Wilcox, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 in DuBois, the son of Stephen and Heather Tressler Cherry.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg.
Grady James fought for nine days for his family to get to know him. He was brave and determined and never gave up until the last moment. He is God's angel and proved that miracles really do happen even if they only last nine days.
He is survived by his parents; a brother, Troy S. Cherry at home; paternal grandparents Stephen and Rhonda Cherry of Wilcox; maternal grandparents James and Suzanne Tressler of DuBois; paternal great-grandparents Joseph and Joyce Cherry of Johnsonburg; and maternal great-grandmother and step great-grandfather Marilyn Tressler Cranfield and Don Cranfield; and maternal great-grandfather David F. Duttry. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Grady was predeceased by his maternal great-grandfather James Tressler; maternal great-grandmother Nancy A. Duttry; and paternal great-grandparents Joseph "Calk" and Laura Calla.
A funeral service for Grady J. Cherry will be conducted at Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen Fair, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg.
Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Rasselas.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home at 401 Chestnut St. in Johnsonburg on Friday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. until service time at 11a.m.
