Earlier this week, members of city council gave their approval to tentative projects for the city's 2011 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
Community and Economic Development Coordinator Tina Gradizzi explained to council that two projects presented at the first public hearing earlier this month qualify for the funding. These projects entail administration costs and street and road improvements within the city.
"We're looking at either Mertz, Charles or George, depending on how much funding we receive and what the cost estimates come in at," Gradizzi said of the roadways being considered for repair.
She asked council to approve the tentative projects and added that council members will be asked to give final approval on all projects at the second public hearing, scheduled to be held during their council meeting on Monday, Jan. 3.
