When mentioning the Borough of Eldred in McKean County, many picture only the small community just over an hour north of St. Marys near the New York border. A group of students at St. Marys Area High School recently had the opportunity to see that the small community has a lot to offer, especially in terms of World War II history.
Located at 201 Main St. in Eldred is the Eldred WWII Museum and Learning Center.
"I was told about it 10 years ago by a fellow teacher, because I didn't know it existed either," said Paul Benjamin, co-advisor of the German Club at St. Marys Area High School.
