Gerald E. Geitner

Gerald E. Geitner, 59, of 31081 Portland Mills Rd., Ridgway, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at home following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 7 1954 in St. Marys, son of the late Louis and Theresa DePanfilis Geitner of Ridgway.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Theresa Zameroski Geitner, whom he married on Feb. 12, 2009.
He was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1972. He was a butcher by trade, having attended the National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Ohio after high school. He worked at the Center Market in Ridgway for his uncle Louie Morelli and later at St. Marys BiLo for several years. He was most recently employed by Curt Gosnell at Elk County Processing. He was a member of the Ridgway Elks Lodge #872 and the Ridgway VFW.
He is also survived by his daughter Tracy Geitner of Laurel, Md.; a son Jason Geitner and his wife Missie of St. Marys; his brothers, Dennis Geitner and his wife Betty of St. Marys, James (J.R.) Geitner and his wife Wanda of Ridgway; a sister, Carol Dickant and her husband Thomas of Ridgway; and a sister-in-law, D'Arcy Geitner of Livonia, N.Y. He is the grandfather of two granddaughters, Brittany and Erica, and one grandson, Tyler Geitner, all of St. Marys. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Geitner.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald E. Geitner will be celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor, officiating.
There will be no visitation.
