Gary A. Meyer

Gary A. Meyer, 61, of 500 Elm St., Weedville, and formerly of St. Marys, died on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center after battling a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug 16, 1952 in St. Marys, a son of Rita M. Erich Meyer, who survives, and the late James E. Meyer.
On Feb. 13, 1996, he married Jeanne Wicks Meyer, who survives.
Gary was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from St. Marys Area High School.
He worked at Ammo & Arms for many years. He was a member of the Camp Owners Association and the American Legion. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and going to camp with his brothers and friends. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin, hunting and riding his Harley.
In addition to his wife of more than 17 years, Jeanne Wicks Meyer, he is survived by two step-daughters Vickie, Mrs. Keith Miller of St. Marys and Kim Vasta of Virginia Beach, Va.; three step-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley and Abby; four brothers, Glenn Meyer and his wife Debbie of St. Marys, Sam Meyer of Coal Hollow, Doug Meyer of St. Marys, Gordon Meyer and his wife Bobbie of St. Marys; two sisters, Terry, Mrs. Bob Neal of Brockway and Georgia, Mrs. Dan Williamson of Kersey, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Relatives and friends of Gary A. Meyer are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 337 Center St., St. Marys, on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as celebrant.
