Franziska Leeb, 97, of 126 Church Street, St. Marys, died unexpectedly Monday, May 20, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 3, 1916 in Linz, Austria. She had attended schools in Austria and had resided in St. Marys since 1959. She was a retired employee of Keystone Powdered Metal Co., retiring in 1981 after 21 years of service.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, was known for her cooking and willingness to share it with everyone. She loved learning new things, always ready to go on a trip. Her flowers in the gardens and on her porch were her joy.
She is survived by a daughter, Roswitha (Rose) Cheatle of St. Marys; a granddaughter, Sabina Mason of Illinois; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon, Devin, and Alexander.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Snyder.
Family and friends of Franziska Leeb are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor, as celebrant.
There will be no visitation.
