Flooding discussed by council

June 25, 2014

During the May flooding incident that plagued much of Elk County, the St. Marys Crystal Fire Department responded to a total of 76 incidents of cellar pumps.
The incidents ranged from homes with a few inches of water in their basements to those with basements will water up to their ceiling rafters.
Many of those homes were on Fourth and Depot streets with a few on North Michael Street.
As a member of the CFD, Greg Gebauer provided this information to his fellow city council members during their regular June meeting. Councilman Ned Jacob is also a member of the CFD.
