First appeal filed against Highland 'injection well'

February 14, 2014

The federal Environmental Appeals Board (EAB) has received its first written appeal against a proposed "injection well" in Highland Township.
Judith E. Hudson of 539 Hacker St., Kane, filed the appeal with the EAB earlier this month. She is appealing a Jan. 28 decision by the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to issue a 10-year permit to Seneca Resources. The permit is under the EPA Underground Injection Control (UIC) program.
