JOHNSONBURG – Crews left the scene at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning after battling a large fire at Domtar paper mill in Johnsonburg for nearly 20 hours; the blaze broke out early Friday afternoon in a tunnel beneath the chip yard at the mill.
Domtar, which employs roughly 400 people, is functional as crews will manually transport wood chips to the plant rather than use the conveyor belt system.
