Fallen firefighter honored

Photo submitted School children and residents paused on Wednesday morning to honor Fox Twp. Volunteer firefighter Blaine E. "Skeeter" Wildnauer, Jr., of Kersey, as his funeral procession traveled through St. Marys and Kersey.

In a fitting tribute honoring fallen firefighter Blaine E. "Skeeter" Wildnauer, Jr., of Kersey, a solemn procession was held Wednesday morning which included dozens of fire departments from four counties.
Wildnauer, 58, died Saturday morning in the line of duty while responding to a traffic crash on the Old Kersey Road. A lifelong resident of the area, Wildnauer dedicated 40 years of service to the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department.
