When the dust settled Friday night, the Ridgway Elkers (21-6) were the lone District 9 Class A team still alive in the state playoffs.
With Elk County Catholic (23-5) and Johnsonburg (23-5) on the losing end, it was Ridgway's Jeremy Breier who played like a season veteran Friday night, scoring 29 points en route to a 62-32 victory over Eisenhower in the opening round of the PIAA Class A boys' basketball playoffs.
