The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch and the Elk County Catholic football teams both return to action Friday night. The Dutchmen will host the Union Golden Knights in their Homecoming game, while the Crusaders will travel to Curwensville for a key AML South Division contest.
Union at St. Marys
Homecoming ceremonies for the Dutch will take place at halftime of this KSAC game.
The Dutchmen of coach Joe Schlimm will bring a 4-3 record into the contest.
St. Marys had defeated Clarion-Limestone 55-12, Clarion 14-7, Moniteau 46-15 and Redbank Valley 28-14.
The Dutch have lost to Brookville 15-14, Punxsutawney 28-7 and DuBois 40-20.
The Golden Knights enter the contest with a 2-6 mark.
Union has picked up wins over Clarion-Limestone 52-35 and Keystone 24-20.
The Knights have lost to Redbank Valley 19-16, Saegertown 44-16, Clarion 26-8, Maplewood 51-16 and Moniteau 34-0.
ECCHS at Curwensville
The Crusaders of coach Travis Skrzypek will travel to Riverside Stadium to take on the Golden Tide in a key Allegheny Mountain League South Division game.
The Crusaders enter the contest with a 6-1 record.
They have recorded wins over Cameron County 34-12, Otto-Eldred 56-16, Coudersport 26-21, Port Allegany 27-20, Johnsonburg 34-8 and Kane 27-13.
Elkâ€™s lone loss of the season came last week to the Brockway Rovers by a 35-14 margin.
The Tide also enters the game with a 6-1 record.
Curwensville has picked up wins over Smethport 49-26, Sheffield 72-18, Port Allegany 35-6, Otto-Eldred 55-0, Kane 48-20 and Ridgway 61-14.
The Golden Tideâ€™s lone loss this year has also come at the hands of the Brockway Rovers by a 41-26 score.
