Dr. George Albert Rouse

Dr. George Albert Rouse, 85, of 1519 Hill St., Ridgway, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at DuBois Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Monongahela, son of the late George and Alma Tucker Rouse. In 1955, he married Joan Burglund, who survives. 
Dr. Rouse had lived in Ridgway for 45 years. He graduated from Monongahela High School, Class of 1942. He joined the U.S. Navy Air Corp in 1943 and served on the Randolph and Kearsarge aircraft carriers. He attended Pittsburgh University and graduated from the Pitt Dental School in 1953. He practiced dentistry in Pittsburgh from 1953 through 1965 and in Ridgway from 1965 until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the PDA and ADA. He was also a life member of the BPOE.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, the Rev. Nancy Easton (Randolph) of Camp Hill; three grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, and Rebecca; a brother-in-law, James Martin; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Daniel Rouse, in 1979; a brother, William Rouse; and by a sister, Carolyn Martin.
Graveside services for Dr. George Albert Rouse will be held on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Oakmont Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Erik Hart, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church, 331 South St., Ridgway, PA 15853 or to the Ridgway Public Library, 329 Center St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
