Dorothy M. Minnick

Dorothy M. Minnick, 91, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of Walnut Street, St. Marys, died at Elk Regional Health Center on Tuesday, July 16 following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 14, 1922 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Clara Gahn Minnick.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1940. She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service. She was a member of the Oblates of St. Benedict and the C.D. of A. She also volunteered for many years for St. Emma's retreat in Latrobe. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing cards.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including her nephew, Michael Gillen of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Minnick; and a sister, Mary Rose Gillen.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy M. Minnick will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center Street, St. Marys, on Friday, July 19 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
